Submitted by Jackie Budkins Republican Town Clerk Running for Re-election
It’s been my honor serving our community as your Greenwich Town Clerk for the last two years.
The Town Clerk’s office is the gateway to our town, it’s where life starts, works, and ends in a sense. It’s where you go when you get married, your child is born, you buy your first home, vote in local elections, get your dog license, file a trade name and much, much more. My priority is to make the big milestones in life just a tad bit easier by leading with empathy and effectiveness as Town Clerk.
During my first term as your town clerk, our office has accomplished a lot:
• We have introduced a Real Property Fraud Alert Notification Service – free to the public
• We’ve added a new more user-friendly online land record search system
• Implemented Electronic recording (e-Recording) as an additional source to submit land records
• Rolled out the new RTM remote and Ez-vote voting system
• We’ve added an additional platform for the public to request and pay for vital records
But I’m not done there; I’m running for a second term to build on those accomplishments to make our office the most welcoming and user-friendly place possible.
I will continue to follow trends and best practices for town clerk offices to advance technology, continue to streamline the RTM processes and put in place our new online portal that organizes and tracks all boards, commissions, and RTM members information.
I love interacting with our wonderful residents, attorneys, title searchers and the many visitors to our office during any given day.
A thank you note that I received recently from a woman named Emily is indicative of why I love this job and what I aim to provide for residents. She wrote, “Jackie, I wanted to write to you to express how grateful I am to have had you help me last month and that you were so kind and understanding that day. Thank you for your professionalism and humanness.” This sums up what the role of Town Clerk truly encompasses.
I humbly ask for your vote on November 7 so I can continue serving and supporting the community we all love and call home.
Respectfully yours,
Jackie Budkins
Town Clerk
