A Legacy for Al DiMarco III

On September 15, 1954, Al DiMarco III was born to Elizabeth and Al DiMarco Jr. He brought much joy and pride to the DiMarco family, from his early home life to his contributions and accomplishments everywhere he roamed.

After an increasingly debilitating illness, Al D III departed on February 8th, 2023 with his angels, comforted on an enormous blanket of love from family and countless friends.

Raised in Chickahominy and Pemberwick in Greenwich, he attended St. Roch elementary, Fairfield Prep, Greenwich High School and Hofstra University.

A lifelong musician, Al studied piano, accordion and trumpet and played his first paying gig at 14 years old. He performed covers and originals with a number of local groups, including Time and Changes, The Enjoy! Band, and Billy and the Showmen, and joined his father playing many weddings and private parties.

Creative energy and lust for life carried him all around the mainland, (including NY, FL, CO, CA, NC, and finally New Orleans. He toured with bands of many genres (Jazz, Rock, Blues, Country, R&B, Zydeco and Tejano). His skill and versatility on the accordion took him from a stint at Disneyland to Tokyo, where he performed a myriad of International, Classical, Folk and Pop styles at DisneySea. Falling in love with the Japanese culture, he extended his stay in Japan another 7 years, playing piano and singing in exclusive hotels. He was always expanding his reach thru music, performing, writing and producing, and collaborating on over 50 albums.

Undaunted by challenges, and a perfectionist with incredible determination, he would build, rebuild, repair or restore anything he fancied, but especially electronics, sound equipment, keyboards and accordions.

He leaves behind his life partner Cheryl Randolph Litke, beloved family: parents Elizabeth (Angelo) Buszta and Alfred J. DiMarco, Jr, brothers Vincent (Katherine), Joseph, and Thomas (Kim), sister Natasha, cherished nieces, nephews, Uncle and cousins, 17 accordions, and many dear friends.

A Celebration of Life with family and friends is being planned.
