An early morning crash on I-94 near exit 4 shut down a section of the highway southbound for five hours.
According to Connecticut State Police the single-car crash took place around 1:30am when the driver exited the highway, hit a curb and utility pole before flipping over just south of exit 4.
A Stamford 21-year-old man was driving the car, a 2006 Infiniti G35. He suffered life-threatening injuries. GEMS took him to Stamford Hospital. The passenger, 16, was treated for minor injuries.
Connecticut State Police continue to investigate the crash.
