Alliance Française of Greenwich Bastille Day Flag Raising

The Alliance Française of Greenwich will raise the French flag over Greenwich on Thursday, July 14 at 9:00 am.

The annual event will honor Bastille Day, the French National Holiday, that celebrates the July 14, 1789 storming of the Bastille – a military fortress and prison, in an uprising that initiated the French Revolution.

In addition to the reading of the annual proclamation by First Selectman Fred Camillo honoring the contributions that French Immigrants, Franco-Americans, Francophones and France have made to the United States, Consul General in New York, Jérémie Robert will speak to the long standing friendship between France and the US.

There will be “petit déjeuner” at Bistro V on Greenwich Avenue immediately following the ceremony at 9:45am for Alliance Française of Greenwich members and honorary guests, and $10 non-members.
