Police Arrest Hit and Run Driver in Old Greenwich

On the morning of Sept 25 Greenwich Police responded to a report of a car that fled after crashing into two separate cars near the intersection of Arcadia Road and Sound Beach Avenue in Old Greenwich.

Multiple witnesses recorded the fleeing driver’s license plate, and the car was located on Sound Beach Avenue with fresh damage to the front end. Police say the damage and paint transfers were consistent with the two vehicles that were struck.

Police determined that the driver, Karin Antonio Mendoza-Cruz, 31, of 113 5th Street in Stamford, had been driving at the time of the crash and took her into custody.

She was charged with evading an Accident with Serious Injury/Property Damage, Failure to drive in Proper Lane, Making an Improper Turn and Driving without a License.

She was released on a $250 bond.
