Appointment of Rita Azrelyant as New Greenwich Director of Parking Services

sunset on greenwich town hallFirst Selectman Peter Tesei announced that Rita Azrelyant has been appointed as the Town’s new  Director of Parking Services, replacing Allen Corey. Azrelyant was selected after an extensive search from a pool of 18 applicants. According to a statement from Tesei’s office, Azrelyant has an impressive record of achievement in municipal management and local government.

Ms. Azrelyant, who will begin work on July 14, 2014, will be paid $105,000.

She is currently the Assistant to the Village Manager for the Village of Scarsdale where she manages parking administration for the Village, including budgeting, staffing, purchasing and inventory control, and implementing parking regulations. She also manages, supervises and assists the Village Manager in effectively and efficiently operating the day-to-day functions for the Village of Scarsdale.

Azrelyant holds a Bachelor’s Degree from SUNY Albany in English and Political Science and a Master’s of Public Administration Degree from the Nelson A. Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy. She is also a member of the International Parking Institute.

In summarizing the reasons for Azrelyant’s selection, Tesei observed, “that the interviewing panel found her experience in the field of parking services administration and municipal government would best meet the needs and responsibilities required for the Director of Parking Services in Greenwich.”
