Man Charged with Assault and Breach of Peace After Incident in Street

On Tuesday, Sept. 23 Greenwich Police were dispatched to an address on Havemeyer Place on the report of an unwanted person and a possible assault.  Police determined that a Greenwich man, 20, had assaulted his girlfriend, striking her with a container of lotion, resulting in minor lacerations to her forehead.

The incident, which took place in the street around 8:00pm, caused a public disturbance, according to police. The man was charged with Assault in the 3rd degree and Breach of Peace in the 1st degree. The suspect was released on $2,000 bond and was due to appear in court on Sept.24.
