Greenwich Schools Announced Important Public Meeting Regarding GHS Cardinal Field & Facilities Master Plan

Greenwich Schools is holding a forum on Cardinal Field from 6:30pm to 7:30pm on May 22 at GHS, in the choral room. The announcement invites the community to join  KG&D Architects and district administrators as they present a status update on Cardinal field and Master Plan projects and give a chance for the community to ask questions.

Then, from 7:30pm until 9:00pm, there will be a forum on the master plan for all Greenwich Schools buildings.

By way of background, on February 22, the BOE approved the continuation of the Cardinal Field Improvement Project “Feasibility Study Option B” to the Site Design Phase.

Option B is a $20M project. This option would include replacing the bleachers, improving field lighting and the speaker system, adding a through road, relocating the tennis courts and adding a building serving as the ticket gate and facilities complete with ADA accessible bathrooms, team rooms and concession.

At this early state of the site design, the architect and administrators seek community feedback prior to the development of specific plans.

Regarding the facilities master plan for all public school buildings, administrators will share the final master plan proposed by KG&D Architects. The plan follows a year long comprehensive assessment of school facilities. For this they also seek community feedback.
