Cos Cob School Kindergartners to Attend Parkway During Repair to Severe Leak

Cos Cob School kindergartners will attend Parkway School while repairs are made to a what the district is describing as a severe leak caused by a broken plumbing fixture.

A letter sent to parents from Parkway School principal Mary Grandville on Tuesday, Oct 9 described the water leak as severe.

She said Greenwich Police were alerted to the situation on Saturday after a motion sensor was triggered by falling ceiling tiles.

Because the clean-up, remediation and restoration process will take an extended length of time kindergartners will be relocated to Parkway first and second graders will be relocated to Old Greenwich School.

With some internal classroom relocation, Cos Cob students in grades three through five will be able to remain in the building.

Cos Cob kindergartners will relocate to Parkway beginning on Monday, October 15.

“This is our opportunity to model for our students what our norm – Caring For Self And Others-truly means,” Grandville said to parents in her letter. “We will be good neighbors to our CosCob friends, and I know you will join me in striving to make them feel welcomed and comfortable during their stay in our community.”
