Stamford JCC Opens JCC Preschool at Greenwich Reform Synagogue

The Stamford JCC recently entered into an agreement with Greenwich Reform Synagogue to begin a new preschool for children age 2 to 5 on Orchard Street in Cos Cob.

“We believe that there is a community need for additional high-quality early education aligned with our mission and vision,” said Marshall Kurland, Chief Executive Officer of Stamford JCC in an email to members.

The preschool in Cos Cob will be in addition to the JCC’s current Early Learning portfolio and will complement existing programs.

“Utilizing a blueprint and curriculum that’s been built over four decades at Sara Walker Nursery School, and recognizing that all students and families have their own unique needs, we believe that The JCC Preschool at Greenwich Reform Synagogue will answer the demand for those in the Greenwich and Cos Cob market,” Kurland wrote.

A national search has been opened for the newly-created position of Director of The JCC Preschool at Greenwich Reform Synagogue.

Liz Gebert will continue as Director of KinderPlace at The J.

Anne Liss Johnson, Associate Executive Director of the Stamford JCC, will continue to lead the JCC Sara Walker Nursery School as Director, provide strategic and directional oversight for all early-learning programs, and provide counsel and supervision to the new Director of The JCC Preschool at Greenwich Reform Synagogue.
