Greenwich Academy is proud to announce that Robin Roberts, co-anchor of ABC’s “Good Morning America,” will deliver the graduation address at the school’s 196th commencement on Thursday, May 18.

Roberts’ accolades and accomplishments are many. Under her leadership, GMA has won numerous Emmy Awards for Outstanding Morning Program and the 2017 People’s Choice Award for Favorite Daytime TV Hosting Team. Roberts has been honored with the Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Journalism, and was inducted into the Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame as well as the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame.

Roberts is the author of From the Heart: 7 Rules to Live By and her memoir, Everybody’s Got Something, which tells the story of her battle against a life-threatening illness (she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007 and myelodysplastic syndrome in 2012), learning life’s hardest lessons, and her inspiring return to the GMA anchor desk.

“A journalist, an author, a producer, and an athlete, with the bravery to turn her personal health challenges into an opportunity help others—Robin Roberts is a force for good who always leads with character,” said Head of School Molly King. “Our community is thrilled to be welcoming her to GA as our commencement speaker.”
