Greenwich High School students are organizing a forum for the Board of Education candidates on October 28th from 9:45 to 11:30 am at the new GHS performing arts center.

Greenwich High School We The People: The Citizen and the Constitution government students, are collaborating with the League of Women Voters to organize the event.

The questions will be generated by GHS students taking Advanced Placement United States Government and Comparative Politics, Honors Civics, and Honors American History. Three student moderators will alternate in asking the candidates the questions.

It’s important to be mindful of the parking as there will be no parking at Greenwich High School.

However, the GHS PTA has secured parking at Greenwich Baptist Church at 10 Indian Rock Road, across from Central Middle School. Please park in the first lot to the right as you pull into the church driveway. GHS PTA members will be on hand to shuttle you to GHS and back to your car after the event. Please consider carpooling.

Great idea. I am hopeful that the student moderators will focus on issues to raise the educational standards of our Greenwich schools. It would be nice to see more qualified teachers in classrooms than in administrative roles, but that takes a school Superintendent who knows how to lead rather than issue Vision statements. Our students and our community needs more!
