On Monday Greenwich Public Schools held their annual Community Service Awards Ceremony in the GHS performing arts center.
Since 1986, students have been selected annually from each elementary school to accept the award on behalf of the entire school for service activities and projects.
The event honors honor students who have participated in service activities, which help to improve both their school and community. These students are inspiring role models that we hope will motivate others to become more involved in their community.
During the ceremony, the Community Service Awards were presented to student representatives from each elementary school, to eighth-grade students from each middle school, and to five high school students, one from each house.
Dr. Ernest Fleishman, former Greenwich Superintendent of Schools, presented the Fleishman Community Service Award that goes each year to a high school student. This year’s award went to senior, Stephanie Chang.
Following the ceremony there was a reception where guests had the opportunity to meet the award winners.
