YWCA Greenwich Participates in the Purple Purse Challenge

During the month of October, YWCA Greenwich is participating in the Purple Purse Challenge, an online fundraising effort to promote, awareness of financial abuse and raise money for YWCA Domestic Abuse Services.

Sponsored by the Allstate Foundation, the top five fundraisers will be awarded additional grant funds, with the top prize of $100,000.

YWCA Domestic Abuse Services is the only agency in Greenwich licensed to treat victims of domestic violence. No victim is ever turned away. Services are free. Services include 24/7 hotline; life-saving safety planning; child and adult counseling; emergency shelter; criminal and civil court services; elementary, middle and high school and adult violence prevention education; and teen dating abuse prevention.

Domestic violence is the number the number one violent crime in Greenwich. One hundred percent of the money we raise will support the YWCA Greenwich Domestic Abuse Services.
