Telephonic Assault on Elderly Strikes again in Greenwich

On May 19th at about 11:35qm Greenwich Police learned of a financial crime from a resident on Grand Street.

According to the report, the caller paid $1,300 toward a loan she sought for $5,000.

“This is a telephonic assault on the elderly,” said Lt. Kraig Gray of Greenwich Police. “They’re calling the elderly all the time.”

Gray said often times lists of elderly and their contact information are sold to people intending to perpetrate scams.
