Teen Charged after Engaging Police in Pursuit

When Greenwich Police stopped a car in central Greenwich on July 17 just after midnight. An occupant of the vehicle fled on foot. Then, as officers pursued the suspect, the car drove off.

The vehicle was located shortly after police matched its rear registration plate.

A second motor vehicle stop was conducted in the area of Locust Street and Havemeyer Place.

Police determined that the license plate on the rear of the vehicle was not registered to the car and was covered by a dark tinted plastic cover. There was no front license plate.

Further, the driver possessed no driver’s license and had no photo ID.

The driver, 17, was arrested and charged with Engaging Police in Pursuit, Misuse of Registration Plate, Failure to Display Front License Plate, Illegal Registration Plate, No License.
