Teen Arrested after Threatening Incident at Community Connections

On October 27, 2025, the Greenwich Police Dept arrested Duglas Alcaide, 18 years old, for CGS 53a-62 Threatening in the Second Degree following an incident at the Community Connections Program.

According to the Police Criminal Information summary, officers responded to a complaint of a threat made to a school by a student.

“Investigation revealed that the arrestee threatened to ‘Columbine’ the school, referring to the Columbine High School Massacre of 1999,” police said in the criminal information summary.

Earlier in the day, Alcaide made a verbal threat directed toward students and staff within the program. The Community Connections staff immediately followed district safety protocols by contacting mental health providers, school security, and the student’s family. Due to the nature of the statement, the Greenwich Police Department was promptly notified.

In coordination with Greenwich Public Schools officials, GPD conducted a threat assessment and determined that the threat was not credible. As a precaution, the majority of students were safely dismissed from the building while the assessment was completed. This incident is believed to be isolated, and there is no ongoing threat to the public or the school community.
