Greenwich Police on Wednesday arrested Cristian Duque, 24, of Stillwater Pl in Stamford on an outstanding warrant stemming from an incident in which they say he evaded responsibility for a car crash in the area of Ritch Ave in Byram back on Feb 2, 2019.
Duque was taken into custody and held at the Stamford Police Dept after they conducted a motor vehicle stop for a traffic violation. They learned of his outstanding warrant by Greenwich Police who then took custody of Mr. Duque.
Duque was brought back to Greenwich and charged with Failure to Carry Insurance Card, Driving without Minimum Insurance, Operating Under Suspension, Illegal Operation Under Suspension-Alcohol, Evading Responsibility, Failure to Drive in Proper Lane, Following Too Close with Accident, False Statement and Interfering with an Officer/Resisting Arrest.
He was assigned a court appearance date of June 26, 2019 and was released on a $50,000 bond.
