Second Person Charged with Larceny for Stealing Political Sign

After a woman was arrested on Sunday for stealing a lawn sign that said “Do You Enjoy Freedom,” a second person was charged with stealing one of the “Do You Like Freedom” lawn signs.

The incident happened on Monday, July 26 around 6:30pm.

Greenwich Police responded to the roundabout at Perryridge Road and Lake Avenue on a report of a stolen yard sign.

Police said the reporting party informed police dispatch that the arrestee, who was identified as Daniel Sigler, 47, of Greenwich removed a political sign from the roundabout and put it in his car before driving away.

The reporting party provided the license plate of Sigler’s car.

When officers confronted Sigler, they say he related that he had taken the sign and presented it to the officers on scene.

Sigler was charged with Larceny 6. He has a date in Stamford Superior court on August 12, 2021.

According to Greenwich Police Captain Mark Zuccerella, there is a third arrest in the works, also for stealing a lawn sign that says “Do You Like Freedom.” For that incident, police have applied for an arrest warrant through Stamford Superior Court.
