Police Issue Warnings for Residents in Violation of Town Ordinances for COVID-19

Greenwich Police Lt Mark Zuccerella on Thursday gave an update on violations of town ordinances enacted during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Zuccerella said there were six violations related to people in town parks which were ordered closed by Greenwich First Selectman Fred Camillo late last month. All were given warnings for being in town parks, though he said none were in large groups.

In addition there was one warning given for a violation of Construction ordinance and two incidents of people violating the leaf blower ordinance.

Police also responded to a report of a non essential business that was open, but said that investigation revealed the business was not open.

There was also a report of a package stolen from a porch and a stolen license plate.

Lastly, an unlocked 2018 Mercedes Benz was recovered in New Haven and has been returned to its owner.
