Police Charge Greenwich Man for Possession of Narcotics While a Patient at Local Hospital

On the night of Oct 17 Greenwich Police responded to Greenwich Hospital on a report of a patient suspected of being under the influence and in possession of narcotics.

Police officers and hospital security searched the accused, identified as Kristopher Thomas Chimblo, 32, of Harold St in Cos Cob, and his single hospital room in the behavioral health unit and located several items including a black Ziploc bag, a clear plastic bag containing white powder, a folded napkin containing several rectangular white pills, five medical syringes, two of which were used, and a folded dollar bill containing a rectangular white pill.

The white powder and pills were tested utilizing reagent test kits. Both tests yielded presumptive positive for the presence of cocaine.

He was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Chimblo was released on a promise to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Nov 16, 2020.

This was not Chimblo’s first arrest while at the hospital. In August, he was charged after yelling derogatory comments, profane language and threatening statements at the hospital, and was charged with Threatening 2 and Disorderly Conduct.

The previous week, he was charged with 5 counts of Illegal Possession of Narcotics, which police say he was receiving by mail.

Chimblo has a history of arrests.

According to the Judicial Branch website, Chimblo was convicted in March 2019 for Attempt to Commit Larceny 3rd degree and sentenced to 30 months in jail for an incident on Valley Rd in Cos Cob on Oct 4, 2017 in Greenwich. He was Committed to Department of Corrections.

In June 2017, Chimblo was arrested twice on the same day. He charged with Disorderly Conduct following a fight on Harold Street. That same day, he was also arrested and charged with Assault 3 for an incident at 31 River Road.

In April 2015 he violated his parole after he allegedly Threatened his Cos Cob family. He was charged with charged with Threatening 2 and Disorderly Conduct.
