LETTER: Maintaining Democratic majority in Hartford will lead to more ruinous tax and spend policies

Submitted by John R. Raben, Former Chairman, Greenwich Republican Town Committee

There they go again. Once again, Greenwich Democrats are desperately trying to change the subject. Change the subject, that is, to anything other than the fiscal train wreck their party has caused in Hartford. As everyone knows, Connecticut has been effectively a one-party state for many years, and the result is obvious.

Town voters must realize that the only way this State can begin to solve its immense fiscal problems is to reject people who have chosen to run as Democrats. Increasing (or even maintaining) the current Democrat majority in Hartford will not solve the state’s well documented problems. All that will do is lead to more of that party’s ruinous tax and spend policies which have devastated Connecticut’s finances and its private sector.

I urge Greenwich voters to elect the Republican candidates for the State Senate (Ryan Fazio) and the State Assembly (Kimberly Fiorello, Harry Arora and Joe Kelly).
