On May 15 Greenwich Police were dispatched to 106 Pemberwick Road at about 6:00pm on the report of a motor vehicle accident in which one operator fled the scene.
A witness identified the operator of the offending vehicle as George Hamilton.
While officer’s were investigating the accident, Mr. Hamilton, 55, of 104 Pemberwick Road, returned to the scene and admitted to being involved in the accident and leaving without attempting to find an owner or contact Police.
Mr. Hamilton was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to Greenwich Police Headquarters where he was charged with Evading Responsibility and Unsafe Backing. He posted $250 Cash Bond and was released. He has a court date on May 25 at Stamford Superior Court.
