Stamford Police continue to investigate the fatal fall on Sunday, July 26 evening of a 4-year-old boy who fell through the window screen of a 10th floor apartment. The child was pronounced deceased at the scene.
At approximately 7:21pm a group of female residents on Prospect Street flagged down a Stamford Police patrol supervisor and reported that a child had fallen from an apartment window. Stamford Police officers, along with Stamford Fire Rescue and EMS personnel, immediately responded to the scene.
This remains an active and ongoing investigation.
However, based on the information available at this time, there is no indication of foul play.
On behalf of the City of Stamford, the Stamford Police Department extended its deepest condolences to the child’s family during this difficult time.
The Department is also coordinating with its Behavioral Health Unit to help provide grief support services to the family.
