Richard Congiu, 33, of 8 Alexander Street in Chickahominy was arrested at about 6:00am on Friday, March 3.
According to Greenwich Police, a resident of a multi-family home on Alexander Street recognized Mr. Congiu as a friend of another resident in the home, but indicated Congiu had no reason to be at the home at that time of day.
According to Police, Mr. Congiu who was found carrying a crow bar, brass knuckles, ski mask, knife and hammer, had forced his entry through a basement door.
He was arrested and charged with Carrying Dangerous Weapons, Home Invasion, Burglary 1, Possession of Burglar’s Tools, Criminal Trespass 2 and Criminal Mischief.
He was assigned a court date of March 17, 2017 in Stamford Superior Court and was released on a $2,500 bond.
