On Thursday, Greenwich Police announced that Joseph C Heffner “JC,” 42, had surrendered at police headquarters at 11:00 am after having learned that there was a warrant for his arrest.
Police say that on the morning of May 11, Heffner allegedly entered M&T Bank in Cos Cob and demanded money, police said. No weapon was displayed, and he made off with less than $5,000.
On Wednesday, Greenwich Police released a wanted poster for Mr. Heffner, which was circulated by news media and on social media.
Heffner was charged with first-degree Robbery 1 and Larceny 4.
Greenwich Police Chief James Heavey commended the officers and detectives who worked diligently on the case to bring it to a successful conclusion. He also expressed his thanks to the press and social media outlets who were instrumental in getting information out to the public.
Heffner is being held on $500,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, June 3, 2022.
