Man Nabbed at 24-Hour CVS in Riverside Attempting to Steal Hair Dryers

Robert Torrens, 49, of 20 Dolsen Place in Stamford was arrested by Greenwich Police on Sept 30 at about 12:30am following an incident at the 24-hour CVS on East Putnam Avenue in Riverside.

On Friday, Greenwich Police responded to CVS on the report of a subject attempting to steal items from the store. Upon arrival, officers located the suspect identified by his Connecticut state identification card as Robert Torrens as he was walking out of the store.

Investigation found that Mr. Torrens removed three hair dryers from the rear of CVS and attempted to leave the store with them. Upon reaching the front of the store, Mr. Torrens dropped the items at the door.

Mr. Torrens was arrested and charged with Larceny 6 and Criminal Attempt at Larceny. His bond was set at $500, which he was unable to post. He was placed in the Greenwich Police cell block. He has a court date on Oct. 14, 2016 in Stamford Superior Court.
