Greenwich Police have arrested an Eat Haven man for allegedly entering a vehicle on Home Place in the overnight hours of Sept 9, 2019 and stealing several items including a credit card.
Police learned the credit card was used outside Greenwich and investigation developed probable cause to believe that George Richard Craig-Amato, 53, of Maple Vale Rd in East Haven, CT, was responsible. An arrest warrant was issued on Nov 8, 2019 and Mr. Craig-Amato turned himself in to Greenwich Police on Feb 5.
He was charged with Identity Theft 3, Receipt from Illegal Use of Credit Card Payment Card Theft, Larceny 3 and Burglary 3.
His bond was set at $25,000, which he was unable to post, and he has a date in Stamford Superior Court on Feb 19, 2020.
Police remind residents to always lock their cars and not leave valuables in their vehicles.
