Man Charged with Larceny in Early Morning Shoplifting Incident in Greenwich

On Wednesday, Aug 10, Andrew Kriaras, 38, of 11 Carnegie Ave in Staten Island NY, was arrested following an incident at 644 West Putnam Ave, the address associated with CVS.

Around 3:35am, Greenwich Police responded to a report of a shoplifter who had just left the store and was walking on West Putnam Ave.

The shoplifter was described as  white woman wearing red shorts and a black t-shirt. A white male was observed in the area wearing the described clothing while walking with a white woman.

On scene investigation revealed that the man, identified by his State of New York driver’s license as Mr. Kriaras, had been with the woman within the store.

It was observed on video footage that Kriaras was walking immediately behind the female with a shopping cart as she was secreting products within her purse.

It appeared on the video that Kriaras was acting as a lookout.

When confronted about the merchandise within the woman’s purse by the store manager, both subjects fled the store together without paying.

Kriaras was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 6 and Larceny 6. He was assigned a court date of August 17, 2016 at the Stamford Superior Court with a bond of $100.
