Man Arrested for Disturbance at Whole Foods Plaza Was Wanted by New Haven Police

On Saturday, Jan 4 at about 11:00am multiple Greenwich Police officers responded to Whole Foods Plaza on West Putnam Ave on a report of a disorderly man causing a disturbance.

Police said it had been further reported that the man was throwing garbage in the parking lot and harassing store employees.

Police arrived on scene and located a man matching the description and learned he had an outstanding warrant from New Haven Police. The original incident occurred in New Haven back on May 11, 2018, where Mr. Rishel was issued infractions for Negligent Use of a Highway by a Pedestrian.

The man, identified as Jesse Lee Rishel, 44, of New London, CT, was charged with Failure to Appear 2. He was due in court on Jan 22, 2019.

Bond was set at $1,000, which he was unable to post. He was placed in a police holding cell and assigned a date in Stamford Superior Court on Jan 21, 2025.
