On Wednesday, the Planning and Zoning Department issued a statement saying there were aware of fraudulent “phishing” emails being sent from addresses that closely resemble official Town email addresses.
These emails may contain fake invoices or requests for payment related to legitimate applications. Please be aware that these are fraudulent messages. Official Town emails end in @greenwichct.gov.
The Planning and Zoning Department does not request payment after decisions have been made, nor does it send invoices for such payments.
If you receive an email like this, we strongly encourage you to verify its legitimacy by contacting the Department directly at 203-622-7984 or through another known contact method.
Please do not reply to the sender or use any links within the fraudulent email.
