On Wednesday Greenwich Police were contacted by the state’s adult probation department about a Cos Cob man with an active arrest warrant for an incident back on August 16, 2018 on Field Point Road.

With assistance of the Stamford Narcotics and Organized Crime Section, Greenwich Police located Alexander Edell, 36, of 50 Valley Rd in Cos Cob at his residence in Stamford. According to Lt Slusarz Edell had recently changed his address and was living in Stamford.

“Thanks to cooperation between Greenwich Police and Stamford Police, we were able to locate this individual and effect the arrest,” Lt Slusarz said.

He was taken into custody pursuant to charges including: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Operation a Drug Factory, Illegal Possession of Narcotic, Illegal Possession, Illegal Possession of Marijuana.

While being taken into custody Edell was found to be in possession of small amounts of crack cocaine, crystal meth and smoking pipes.

His bond was set at $100,000 and he was assigned a date in Stamford Superior Court on October 3, 2018.

Back July 31 Greenwich Police arrested Edell at the Greenwich Hyatt after they responded to a report of a fight. When police arrived at the hotel, officers were met by a victim who said she had been assaulted by Edell.

The victim said Edell had used force and broken down a door that adjoined and linked both the hotel rooms he rented, and that he had prevented her from calling 911 for help.

Police say there were numerous amounts of narcotics in plain view strewn around the hotel room.

Greenwich Police Narcotics section obtained a search warrant for both hotel rooms. For that incident Edell faced multiple drug charges.
