Greenwich Psychotherapist Charged with Sexual Assault for 2018 Incident

A psychotherapist who practices in Greenwich, Curtis Harmon, was arrested by New Haven Police on an outstanding warrant on May 10.

According to the CT Judicial branch website Harmon, 54, is charged with Sex 2-Actor is Psychotherapist, a class C felony and Tampering-Physical Evidence , a class D felony. Records show the incident stems back to March 9, 2018.

New Haven Police said their lengthy investigation began after allegations of sexual misconduct by a patient.

Mr. Harmon was arrested at his medical office in Greenwich.

“This arrest is the result of a lengthy investigation into Harmon on allegations by a patient of sexual misconduct,” said Captain Anthony Duff, police spokesman.

The Judicial Branch website says Harmon’s bond was set at $40,000 and that he was released from custody. He is scheduled to appear at Superior Court in New Haven on May 21.

According to Harmon’s LinkedIn page, he has been a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at Contemporary Care in Greenwich since April 2019 and has degrees from Harvard and Yale. His profile says he is an “Experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with a demonstrated history of working in the management consulting industry. Skilled in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Group Therapy, Clinical Research, Technology Needs Analysis, and Crisis Intervention.”
