Greenwich Police Seek Witnesses after Pedestrian Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries


On Wednesday night around 8:00pm, the Greenwich Police Department was notified of a serious motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian on West Putnam Avenue.

An on-scene preliminary investigation determined that a 41-year-old man was attempting to cross West Putnam Avenue near the intersection of Western Junior Highway.

According to a release from Captain Mark Zuccerella, while crossing the roadway, the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound.

The pedestrian suffered serious life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local medical facility.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

The Greenwich Police Collision Reconstruction Team continues to investigate the collision.
