Greenwich Police Release Identity of Woman Killed in Wednesday Fatal Crash

Police have identified the driver in Tuesdays fatal motor vehicle crash as Serena Bechtel, 52, of Greenwich.

Bechtel was traveling north on Lake Avenue when the 2013 Chevy Suburban she was driving left the road and struck a wall and a tree. She was pronounced dead at that scene.

The Greenwich Police Crash Reconstruction Team continues to investigate the crash.

Bechtel, according to her profile on LinkedIn, studied history as an undergrad at Yale, graduating in 1991. She co founded Above and Beyond Move Management in 2018, a business that offers decluttering, moving and organizing services.

Greenwich police are investigating a single car motor vehicle crash that occurred Tuesday night on Lake Avenue.

Police said that a 2013 Chevy Suburban was traveling north on Lake Avenue between Round Hill Road and Parsonage Road when it left the roadway and struck a stone wall and tree.

The driver, a 52 year old Greenwich woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver’s identification is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.

Greenwich Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact Officer Roger Drenth of the Department’s Traffic Section at (203) 622 – 8014.
