First, Officer Beattie chased and apprehended a suspect in the Island Beach Commuter lot. The suspect had perpetrated a fraud at the Citibank on Railroad Ave and then fled on foot with Officer Beattie running close behind.

According to police, a couple of days later, Officer Beattie made a simple motor vehicle stop, which turned into an investigative detention. That resulted in the operator’s arrest for the possession of a sizeable amount of  narcotics.

The very next day, Officer Beattie arrested five suspects who had engaged him in pursuit up onto I-95, and, with the assistance of the State Police, stopped the fleeing suspects.  These  suspects were wanted on felony warrants out three states.

Beattie’s actions demonstrated exceptional initiative and investigative aptitude.

According to Greenwich Police, the department’s Detectives were able to leverage the criminal intelligence gained from these arrests to further several other local investigations. Great police work often starts with simple proactive patrol.
