Greenwich Police Midnight Crew Recover Stolen Car; Arrest Teen for Trespassing

Greenwich Police are having a busy week.

“The Midnight Crew did a great job on the stopping a stolen car out of Stamford,” said Captain Mark Zuccerella on Thursday morning.

On Wednesday around 3:20am Greenwich Police responded to the area of Morningside Drive and Indian Field Rd in Cos Cob on a report of a suspicious vehicle.

The car was determined to have been stolen from Stamford just prior to it being spotted in Greenwich.

During the course of their investigation police located a male subject in the area of 22 Anderson Rd which is in close proximity to the stolen vehicle.

Officers were not immediately able to confirm the suspect’s identity but he later identified himself by his CT Learners Permit as Jordin T Mitchell, 18, of Glover Ave in Norwalk.

Police say Mitchell was trespassing in private property and was in possession of suspected marijuana and a grinder.

Mitchell was charged with Simple Trespass, Possession of less than 1/2 Oz Cannabis and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

He was released on a promise to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Sept 16, 2020.

Police say the case is still open and there is an investigation into whether the Mitchell is connected to the stolen vehicle.
