Arrest Made in 2019 Greenwich Home Invasion

On Sept 1 Greenwich Police arrested a Bronx man in relation to a May 17, 2019 home invasion on S Stonehedge Drive, which is located just north of the Merritt close to the New York line.

Lt Mark Zuccerella said the suspect, Charles Figeroua, 48, of Hollers Ave in Bronx, NY, was in custody immediately after the incident in Greenwich.

“He is accused of breaking into a home in Greenwich, twice, and assaulting the resident,” Zuccerella said.

On Tuesday Greenwich Police officers with the warrants and extraditions unit responded to the Manhattan Detention Complex to extradite Mr. Figueroa back to Connecticut.

Prior to that, on Aug 27 Figueroa was taken into custody by US Marshals Fugitive Task Force after he was released from the MDC in Brooklyn where he had been incarcerated for federal crimes unrelated to this matter.

Figueroa was charged as a Fugitive from Justice and subsequently waived extradition, agreeing to return to Connecticut.

GPD had two active warrants for Figueroa: two counts of Home Invasion and two counts of Assault 3.

Each warrant carried a $1,000,000 court set bond.

Figueroa was held at Greenwich Police Headquarters until his arraignment on Sept 2.
