Greenwich Police Extradite Woman from Westchester Jail

Greenwich Police responded to the Westchester County Correctional Facility in Valhalla to take custody of Melba Morris, 52, on Wednesday, March 11.

Police had an active Felony arrest warrant for Morris, of 18 Bush Ave in Port Chester, NY, for a Failure to Appear 1st degree charge stemming back to July 2, 2012.

Ms. Morris was extradited from Westchester County Correctional Facility, and turned over to Greenwich authorities by the Westchester County Correction Officers. Morris’s court established bond was $5,000.00. Morris was unable to post her court established bond. She was then placed into the Greenwich Police cell block. She has a court date of March 18, 2015 in Stamford Superior Court.

A search of the National Crime Information Center for Melba Morris revealed an active misdemeanor warrant for her arrest by Norwalk Police for a Failure To Appear 2nd degree was discovered. The court established bond for the Norwalk warrant was $5,000.

Morris was advised that along with the felony warrant in Greenwich, she would be processed for the Norwalk misdemeanor warrant for which a court date was set for March 25, 2015 at Norwalk Superior Court.
