Greenwich Police Charge Man with Criminal Trespass in Private, Gated Community

On Oct 4 just after midnight several Greenwich Police units responded to a private, gated community in central Greenwich on a report of an unknown man on the property.

After reviewing surveillance footage, a man was spotted walking down the private driveway, looking into a parked vehicle and going around the house. A few seconds later, the same man is seen walking back up the driveway and leaving the property.

With a description of the suspect, he was located in the vicinity a few minutes later.

Police say the suspect, who had no identification, initially did not want to provide his name and was not cooperative with the investigation. Nor could he provide any information as to why he was in the area.

After he was in custody at police headquarters he provided a name of Rogelio Santana, 22, of Yonkers, NY, and was processed for Criminal Trespass 3 and Interfering with an Officer/Resisting.

He was unable to post his $5,000 bond and was remanded to police custody. His court date was on Oct 19 at Stamford Superior Court.
