GPD Charge Port Chester Man with Criminal Mischief

On Friday Greenwich Police on routine patrol observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on West Putnam Ave and pass a vehicle on the right.

Police stopped the car and determined that the driver, Jeffrey Omar Posadas, 25, of Port Chester had an active arrest warrant stemming from an incident in Byram in 2023.

Police said Mr. Posadas was wanted for Criminal Mischief 3rd degree stemming from a disagreement between himself and a victim over masonry work he had done on the victim’s walkway.

The victim had hired Posadas to do masonry work and they agreed on a price of $1,000. After the job had begun, Posadas and the victim had a disagreement over the price of the job. The victim told Posadas she would pay the fair price for the work he had completed. On the morning of May 23, 2023 she observed Posadas and his brother Ascar in the walkway.

Police said it appeared as if they had put a tarp down covering the Belgian Blocks that lined the walkway. Posadas was hitting the blocks with a large hammer. When confronted, he said he was breaking the blocks because the victim was not paying him.

He was charged with Criminal Mischief and released after paying the 10% cash option of his $1500 bond. He has a date in Stamford Superior Court on May 10, 2024.
