Greenwich Man Charged with Cruelty to Persons, Assault and Risk of Injury to a Child

On Friday Napoleon Diaz, 28, of Greenwich, responded to Greenwich Police headquarters to surrender on an outstanding arrest warrant.

The warrant stemmed from a previous investigation into an incident on Nov 21, 2022. Police said it was determined Mr. Diaz had disciplined his young child using physical force with an instrument causing injuries.

The injuries were confirmed by Greenwich Hospital medical staff.

Diaz was arrested and charged with Intentional Cruelty to Persons, Risk of Injury to a Child and Assault 2.

At the time of the arrest report, Diaz was unable to post his court set bond of $50,000 and remained in police custody.

He was assigned a date in Stamford Superior Court on Feb 21, 2023.
