YMCA Greenwich to Kick-Off New Martial Arts Program with Free Demo

SDSS Martial Arts will be hosting a free and open to the community class demo on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at 4:30pm as part of a kick-off to the new Greenwich Martial Arts program at the YMCA of Greenwich.

“In growing up in Greenwich, the YMCA was an anchor to all of us,” said Mikael Meyers, Owner, SDSS Martial Arts. “We had our swim lessons, camps, and even as teenagers, the Y had ‘The Underground’ 80’s night club for us to safely congregate.”

“Fast forward to today, I have been fortunate enough to have grown a martial arts organization that spans from CT/MA/NH/PA,” he continues. “I am excited to start a program at the Y for its members to enjoy, as I have enjoyed the Y all these years.”

The Greenwich Martial Arts Spring classes begin in March for pre-school and elementary age children as well as teens and adults.

Children will learn eye hand coordination, confidence, and life skills. They will earn martial arts belt colors based on their accomplishments.

Adults and Teens will learn self-defense and build confidence to use it, as well as cardio through martial movement.

“We are excited to be partnering with Mike and SDSS to help elevate the Martial Arts program here at the Y,” said Ricky Perez, Director of Membership Operations, YMCA of Greenwich.  “We are always striving to improve our programs and membership experience.”
