Greenwich Man Charged with Assault after Fight Inside a Car

Multiple Greenwich Police units were dispatched to the area of 22 Greenwich Avenue on Monday around 5:30pm on a report of two men fighting within a vehicle. A victim with blood on his forehead and lips was located within the vehicle, but he denied the blood was from that particular incident and having been in a fight.

A witness said the two men had left the scene had entered an apartment building at 32 Greenwich Ave. Police caught up with Nicholas Scarfone, 36, of 32 Greenwich Avenue, who they said had blood on one of his fingernails and swollen red knuckles. Police say Scarfone also had a fresh scrape on his wrist, but denied entering the victim’s vehicle or having any physical contact with him. They say Scarfone was shaking and appeared nervous, and that his injuries were  consistent with having been in a fight.

A woman inside the apartment building admitted that Scarfone was enraged and became involved in a heated argument with the victim.

Scarfone was charged with Assault 3. He was able to post 10% cash of the $250 bond and was released from custody. He has a date in Stamford Superior Court on Jan 27, 2020.
