Greenwich Driver Charged with Hit-and-Run after Hitting Child on a Bike

Greenwich Police said that on July 29 around 6:00pm, a Greenwich man driving his brother’s car hit a juvenile who was riding a bike in the roadway in the area of 168 North Water Street in Byram.

Police said that when they arrived they rendered aid to the child, who was later transported to the hospital where he was treated for multiple injuries to his head, torso, arms, legs and hands.

Upon investigation, police located the vehicle on Pine Street in Byram.

The car’s owner was contacted at his residence in Port Chester, NY by Port Chester Police. He identified the driver as his brother, the accused, Luis Alberto Ramirez-Perdomo, 34, of Greenwich.

When police contacted Mr. Ramirez-Perdomo, he admitted driving the vehicle at the time of the collision, which was caught on doorbell camera footage in the area.

Police say that prior to leaving the scene of the accident, Ramirez failed to provide the child or his parent with his name, address or any contact information. Nor did he attempt to contact the police department to document the incident.

Ramirez-Perdomo was arrested and charged with Evading Responsibility with Injury/Property Damage. He was released after posting his $1,000 bond and has a date in Stamford Superior Court on August 12, 2022.
