GPD: Serious Motor Vehicle Crash on King Street Under Investigation

On Sunday around 9:23pm, Greenwich Police Dispatch received an emergency phone call for a single motor vehicle crash within the intersection of King Street at Glenville Street.

Greenwich Police Dept, Greenwich Fire Dept, Greenwich EMS all responded to the scene.

According to a statement released Monday morning from Captain John Slusarz, first responders located an unresponsive driver within the vehicle who was transported to an area Hospital for immediate medical treatment.

He added that preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle was traveling north on King Street, when for an unknown reason it left the roadway and struck a stone wall on the northeast corner of the intersection.

He added that investigators believe that a medical episode may have been a contributing factor to the crash.

The roadway was closed for several hours forĀ  the crash investigation, but has since been re-opened.

The Greenwich Police Crash Reconstruction Team continues to investigate the
collision.
