GPD: New Year’s Arrest of Belligerent Man with History of Convictions

Early in the morning of New Year’s Day a Byram man was arrested after Greenwich Police responded to South Water Street on a report of a belligerent man.

Around 5:23am, police arrived at a house, which they found in a complete state of disarray. The man in question, Jared Denny, 43, of 270 South Water Street admitted to having thrown and broken items.

Mr. Denny was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct and Failure to Comply with Fingerprinting.

His bond was set at $2,500, which he was unable to post.  He was assigned a court date in Stamford Superior Court on Jan 2, 2018.

Mr. Denny has a history of convictions in Stamford and Norwalk Superior Courts from multiple arresting agencies.

In September 2016 he was found guilty in Stamford Superior Court for an Oct 22, 2015 charge of Interfering with an Officer. The original arresting agency was the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.

On Oct 16, 2013 he was found guilty in Stamford Superior Court for a May 5, 2013 charge from Stamford Police of Interfering with an Officer and sentences to a year in jail.

On Oct 10, 2013 he was found guilty in Norwalk Superior Court on charges from Connecticut State Police Troop G with Interfering with an Officer that stemmed back to August 28, 2013. Also, On Oct 10, 2013, he was found guilty of Interfering with an Officer in Norwalk on July 24, 2013. He was sentenced to one year jail, execution suspended after 6 months, probation 3 years.

He was also found guilty in Norwalk Superior Court on Nov 18, 2015 for Violation of Probation and sentenced to 6 months jail, execution suspended probation 17 months.
