DUI on Mill Street after Midnight

A Greenwich Police officer parked by the Bryam Fire House ramp to monitor traffic in the overnight hours of April 21, observed a black Lincoln Navigator traveling west on Delavan Ave.

According to police, at about 1:32am the Navigator stopped for a traffic sign when it was not required to do so. The officer followed the Navigator west on Mill Street where it cross the double-yellow line.

The police stopped the car, driven by Luis Montes, 29, of 49 Maple Ave in Stamford. Mr. Montes did not have a valid operators license. He had previously been ticketed for not having a valid license.

Montes admitted to having had five beer five beers before driving. His eyes were observed to be glassy, bloodshot and his pupils were dilated. He agreed to submit to Standardized Field Sobriety testing, which he did not perform to standard.

He was charged with DUI, Failure to Drive Right, and Driving without a License. His bond was set at $250 and he has a date in Stamford Superior Court scheduled for April 29.
