DUI in Byram Park

police holding cells 2Greenwich Police were dispatched to the area of Byram Park on report of a possible drunk driver on on the evening of May 17 at about 7:00pm.

During the on scene investigation, police observed that the operator, Samuel Gonzalez-Gutierrez, 44, of 48 Manhattan Street in Stamford, had a distinct odor consistent with the consumption of an alcoholic beverage.

Mr. Gutierrez admitted to consuming alcohol this evening and was also observed to be lethargic, unfocused, and unsteady on his feet when exiting the vehicle and performing the standardized field sobriety tests.

Gutierrez was issued a series of Field Sobriety Tests which he subsequently failed. He was arrested for DUI and Operating a Motor Vehicle without a License. He was assigned a court date of at the Stamford Superior Court on May 25, 2015.
