COVID-19 Does Not Deter Car Thiefs in Greenwich

On Monday Greenwich Police Lt Mark Zucerella, the press information officer, said that over the weekend two unlocked cars were stolen. Both were in the area of Pecksland Rd and Round Hill Road. One was a 2017 Range Rover and one was a 2020 Audi Q5.

Zuccerella said the Range Rover was recovered in Waterubury. The Audi remains missing.

“Lock it or Lose it,” he said. “Criminals don’t care about coronavirus.”

Last week one car was stolen and a second one had items taken from it. On March 13 a 2019 Mercedes GLC was reported stolen from a Round Hill Rd driveway in the overnight hours. It was recovered later in Somers, NY. Also, in the overnight hours between the 12th and 13th a 2013 Audi was broken into on Hillside Rd. Police said the Audi was had been locked.
